Our Story
About Underground Bowling Association
The Underground Bowling Association was established in 2009 to transform team bowling into a high-energy sports-entertainment experience. It combines serious competition, franchise identity, spirited rivalries and community.
Team bowling is at the heart of the UBA. Bowlers compete as part of franchises with their own names, colors and traditions. That shared identity gives players and fans a team to support, while rivalries bring a story to each match and season.
The UBA competition structure connects district and conference play with national championship events. Its year-round schedule includes the Season Tour and World Championship Series. Explore UBA competition to learn more about these pathways and events.
Franchise culture is another part of the association. Teams build their own communities around a shared competitive standard. The franchise owners page explains how to explore owning a UBA franchise.
Beyond the lanes, UBA TV and UBA Today document events, rivalries, personalities and champions. Together, competition, team identity and storytelling connect the association’s bowling community.
Founded by Philip Chance and Tynell Tate, the UBA has grown from an original concept into a national sports association and media brand with hundreds of franchises and thousands of members.
“A national platform where bowlers compete, franchises build legacies and every match has a story.”
